The K2

If you couldn't get enough of Healer in 2014. A whole new drama that was release in 23 September 2016 got it covered. With Ji Chang-Wook and Im Yoona is you leading cast you can have a hell of a time fangirling and go crazy over the two leads love story.

Ji Chang-Wook plays the role as Kim Je-Ha also known as K2 who was a highly trained mercenary, who became a fugitive after being framed for murder in Iraq.

Im Yoona plays Anna who is an illegitimate daughter of a presidential candidate Jang Se-Joon, played by Jo Sung Ha is constantly threatened by her stepmother Yoo-Jin is hidden from the world and had little interaction with the outside world.

Kim Je-Ha was task to protect and watch over Anna in exchange for supplies and protection of him to take revenage on another presidential candidate who was behind the murder in Iraq which caused him to loose his first love and end up as a fugitive.

This story started off slow but quickly brought me to the edge of my seat. It had a good plot and story line. If you love action and romance put together. This drama is seriously for you. I would give it a rating of 8/10 and Ji Chiang-Wook has not failed me yet. Would totally recommend to those who haven't watch this drama to give it a chance.

Destined to love you

Qian Bao Bao is on the run from creditors with her sick mother. She meets Xiao Han on the train, who offers her hope for curing her mother. But when an assassination attempt results in Xiao Han falling off the train, Bao Bao feels she has no choice but to take her place. Thus she assumes the role of a psychology instructor at a prestigious military school, and becomes entangled in a in a love triangle and some dangerous politics while trying to hide her true identity.

My thoughts:
Its a really good drama in my opinion. For my I've never really been a fan of Chen Qiao En. But I have to say that this drama was a real winner. 2015 is a year with a crazy amount of "period dramas"(in the 1800s-1900s) to me this beats all the dramas I've watched in 2015 so far... Personally for me I liked how they balanced out the lightheartedness and seriousness pretty evenly. I felt the chemistry between the two leads were pretty good and I love how they built each character's personality. If you are looking for a Chinese drama to watch and haven't tried this drama. You should give it a go. I got pretty hooked and finished it with 3 days. Haha. If you have any good dramas you think I should check out. Just comment below.

The promise summary (correct summary)

I know I did a summary before. However, the summary i got was a little different from what I watched to I am doing another summary. I'm at episode 42 and damn it is good. The story progress was a little slow and I was getting really annoyed with the fact that our leading lady was suffering so much and not really standing up for herself. But things just got exciting. Witch's Castle episode 3 recap

So we are back to where we left off. Dan Byul is trying to turn on the stove but as she tries her past is back to haunt her. Jun Young has just finish showering and sees Dan Byul. He walks over to her and pulled her trembling hand to the stove knob and gave the knob a sharp turn. The Stove lights up and Dan Byul looks extremely shock. Dan Byul then tells him how she is really afraid that she will continue to be the way she is. Jun Young assures her that he will help her. She tells him of how she wants to get over her phobia as she wants to cook nice dishes for him every day. He embraces her and tells her that he knows that she has a scar in her heart and he will help her overcome it.

Back in the hospital with Kang Hyun we see him opening a shoe box and in them are Dan Byul’s shoes (Now we know where it went). Kang Hyun tries to recall what happened on the day of his accident but to no avail. Jumping to the next scene where we see Hee Jae waking up after the whole drunken episode. She walks up to her phone and wanted to delete Jun Young’s number. But she couldn’t bring herself to do it. She goes back to lie in her bed when suddenly she gets a call. She jumps up and hurried over thinking it was Jun Young. But to her disappointment it was Kang Hyun checking if she had finish the work he has given her. Pissed off, Hee Jae insults Kang Hyun saying “What do you get from being so loyal to the company? But of course, a hunting dog should obey its master.” With that she tells him she isn’t feeling well and hangs up on him.

Back to our couple we see Jun Young setting up a candle light room. He seems please with his handy work, he then wonders why Dan Byul is taking so long. We skip to Jun Young dad. Who is now waiting outside in the cold for Mil Lee. As Mil Lee returns home she sees him waiting outside and started smiling. She then changes her expression and walks up to him. Pretending to be concern. (She obviously like the attention she was getting.) Nagging at him about how worried she is for him. He then ask who the earlier guy was. She then started “crying” saying the guy was the only way she could try to get over him. (right…) He then tells her that he will get a divorce and that his son has gotten married. Mil Lee then pretends to be concern and says that she doesn’t want to be the one to break up a family. Asking him to go back to his family, leaving the good memories behind and how a nice guy like him won’t be able to ask his wife for a divorce. (Now we can see what she is doing here huh).  She then “apologies” for asking him to divorce but only because she didn’t want to lose him. But how she think it isn’t right and she ask for a break. Mil Lee runs off.

Only to have him chase her to her house. Here we can see her smirking. She quickly opens the door and closes it just before he reaches. Just to make it more dramatic. He yells for her to open the door. She then tells him it is hard for her too and ask him to go. He then says if she doesn’t come out he will wait outside her house until she opens the door. Mil Lee smiles after hearing what he said. (She obviously wanted him to do that.) She then receives a phone call and from the conversation she seems to have debts.

The next scene we see Jun Young’s mum sneaking into Jun young’s and Dan Byul’s house. She looks at their home and started worrying. Like why wasn’t there a lamp outside their home and it was so dark. Or why was the window so thin and things like that. We go back to Jun Young’s dad. He left Mil Lee's place and was thinking of how to solve the problem that he has.(Which is probably getting his wife to agree to a divorce) He seem to have come to a conclusion and left the food stand he was at. Jun Young’s mum has return home having her dinner. He husband has also reached home and he enters the kitchen. He sits down and tell her he needed to talk to her. She keeps interrupting him and got a bit carried away with complaining about her son’s new place. He then yells at her to listen to him.

Jumping to the scene of Dan Byul and Jun Young in the candle light room. The two of them having a romantic moment and they jump back to Jun Young’s parents. Where his dad tells his mum he wants a divorce. Mum was obviously taken totally by surprise and didn’t know what to say at first. She then ask him why he wants a divorce and he says he wants to live another life. A life in which he chooses. Since all his children are married he is not responsible of them anymore. His duty was done. She asked him if he wanted to go back to the countryside life again. She laughs and tears the divorce papers and tells him to stop joking around. Mum was not having any of it and she walked out of the kitchen. He then quick shouts “I have another woman.” Mum stops at her tracks and turn. She ask him to repeat himself and he did. She then sighs. “Okay” she says. He was shock for a moment. Then mum continues “I will find you a house at the countryside and you can do whatever you want.” (HAHAHAHA I like how she believes her husband is not capable of doing something like that.) She then walks away saying she needs to shower.

She enters the bathroom and ask herself if her husband was lonely too after their son’s marriage. In the kitchen dad calls Mil Lee and tells her that he will give up everything for her. Even if it mean his wealth.  Telling her how much he loves her.

They then show Mil Lee hanging up the phone and she ask if he was crazy giving up his wealth. Mil Lee gets a phone call and it is from her daughter, Hyang. Hyang wanted money because she was a model and she needed money to go shopping and if she wanted Hyang friend’s to think she was poor. Mil Lee then tells Hyang to wait a few more days. Hyang then tells Mil Lee that she wishes to leave the modelling agency she is with saying it was too tiring. Mil Lee ask “again?” Clearly this isn’t the first time. She then tells her daughter to be patient. Hyang ignores her and tells her to send her the money and quickly hangs up. Mil Lee complains about her daughter being so selfish. Mil Lee then takes out her bank book and looks at it. There isn’t much money left. She then says to herself “There is only one way left.”

Yoo Sung was planning to leave to go aboard but was caught by Grandma Chun. She was so angry that she said she couldn’t be bother anymore. Sang Gook then ask Yoo Sung into his study room for a chat. Yoo Sung then tells Sang Gook he can’t stand staying at home because every time he sees Grandma Chun she would nag about working in the company which he doesn’t want to. Sang Gook then made a deal with Yoo Sung that if he settle down and not go abroad anymore. Sang Gook will invest in his movie and he will talk to Grandma Chun about nagging. So they had a deal.

Ho Duk (Jun Young’s mum) came out of the bathroom to find her husband fast asleep on the couch. She then talks to her sleeping husband about how upset she is as her only son has left her for good. The next scene shows Hee Jae about to go for a run. Her father (Sang Gook) ask if he could tag along. She was a little confuse as she thought her father had a golf appointment. He then tells her that he had cancel his golf session to run with her and she agreed. (Mostly some father daughter bonding scenes. It’s quite cute actually. Haha)

Jun Young sees Dan Byul packing their bags despite having one day more to their honeymoon. Dan Byul then tell Jun Young that she feels that they should go to his mother’s house. Telling how upset his mother must be and insist they go over. Jun Young tell Dan Byul he hope his mother would be moved. Dan Byul tells him how if she was sincere she is sure his mother will acknowledge her someday.

Sang Gook and Hee Jae finished their run. They said down for a meal and her dad tells her that what they were have was really good for hangovers. Hee Jae apologies for the commotion she made the day before. But her father brush it off by telling her that he was glad to know that she actually still had fun and even drink in the day. He then tells her that they must drink together sometime. He then tells her the company is forming a legal team and asked her if she would want to take charge and she agreed. The zoom into her and she thought “wait and see… Jun Young.”(That doesn’t sound good)

Nam Soo(Jun Young’s dad) was having a terrible hangover and his wife Ho Duk has made him hangover soup. She nags at him for drinking so much and sleeping on the couch. Suddenly Nam Soo receives a call from Mil Lee and he runs into his room to pick it up. Ho Duk wonders who may call so early in the morning. When Nam Soo picks up the phone he hears Mil Lee scream. He rushes out of the house to find Mil Lee and when he arrive to his horror her house was a mess and two thugs sitting in the living room and Mil Lee on the ground. Apparently, Mil Lee owes the thugs money and if she can’t pay it she will have to sell her organs. They tried to force her to sign her organs off until Nam Soo decided to pay for her. He hesitated when he found out how much she owed but in the end he signed the agreement to pay off the debuts for her.

At home, Ho-Duk realizes that Nam Soo forgot to bring his phone. She calls his office only to be told that he has not arrived yet. Ho Duk is befuddled as Nam Soo should have reached the office already. Ho Duk checked his call logs and realizes he call someone called Seo Bong Goo very often. She wondered who it was. Moments later, Ho Duk was ironing the clothes and she noticed that her husband’s shirt had a red stain that looked like a lipstick stain. Being to absorbed in her thoughts she accidentally hurt herself.

Just then Jun Young and Dan Byul arrives. Still angry with them, she ignored then and gave them the cold shoulder even when Dan Byul ask if they could stay the night Ho Duk immediately said no. When they wanted to pay their respects Ho Duk told them to just leave as they have nothing to do with each other.

Ho Duk slams her room door in both Jun Young and Dan Byul's face. Dan Byul trying to be a good daughter in law decided to help finish up the ironing and she clean up the refrigerator. She accidentally found the torn divorce papers in the trash can.  Suddenly, Ho Duk enters the kitchen and ask her what she was doing. Dan Byul quick places the paper back into the trash can and told Ho Duk she was just cleaning up. Dan Byul then asked her if she was hungry and wanted something to eat. Ho Duk wanted to make her life difficult and tells her to heat the soup at the stove up. Despite knowing Dan Byul phobia. Even so, Dan Byul quietly agreed to do it. She stands in front of the stove and looks at it. Ho Duk watches Dan Byul as she slowly moved towards the stove knob.

This episode is so much better than the last. I like the speed in which the drama is moving at, how we slowly find out about each character a little more. This was a pretty humorous episode too. I like how much Ho Duk trust Nam Soo. Sadly she put the trust on the wrong person at this point. I can’t wait to see Ho Duk and Dan Byul’s relationship grow… That will be interesting. Looking forward to the other episodes. Do drop me comments on what you think and your opinions! Cheers

Witch's Castle Recap episode 2

Dan Byul came home feeling upset as she thought over what her future mother in law had said.
As she walks to the front door she sees Jun Young in the house. Hesitating to go in she turn her back to the door and took a deep breath. Jun Young has already spotted her outside, opening the door he asked Dan Byul why she was so late. Stopping at that question Jun Young noticed her face slightly swollen he said if she has been crying. Dan Byul quickly denied it and blamed the weather for being so cold.Dan Byul wanted to tell Jun young that she met his mother but was cut off by him as he ask her to quickly go into the house. Concerned of how easily she gets a cold.

Jun Young then surprises Dan Byul with the wedding gown that hang in her room.
Dan Byul was surprised yet confused as they had agreed that they were not going to buy a wedding gown for her wedding because they couldn’t afford it. Jun Young then sat her down and said “There are so many things I want to get for you.” And he list a whole lot of stuff and how even if he could give her all the stars it still will not be enough because his love for her goes further and deeper then he can express. He said, “Even though I can only give you this gown” he promised to love her more every day and be there for her when she needs him. She then replied saying she can’t do anything for him. He places her hand on his heart and tells her that she is his heart and she means everything to him. After that he took out a pair of heels and gave it to her asking her to walk in this pair of beautiful heel towards him.(the wedding aisle) He then stands up, open his arms signaling for an embrace and asked if she would come to him. Extremely touched she walks up to him and with tears in her eyes hugs him saying that she loves him and only him till the day she dies.

Finally, their big day has arrived. Both Jun Young and Dan Byul were both felt extremely bliss and excited.
On the other hand our future mother in law, sits in her room in a dilemma despite disapproving of their marriage she knew they were going to go through with it. She loves her son and wants him to be happy but she has strongly disapprove of Dan Byul. She wonders if it would be better if she gave in and just give her blessing to the both of them.

Gang Hyun is in Paju running an error for his boss. While happen to be the place that Dan Byul was doing her hair and makeup as well. (Of course.) And coincidentally they collided as Dan Byul was walking out of the salon.
Dan Byul quickly apologizes while Gang Hyun just looks at her while an annoyed expression on his face. She helped to pick his papers up and gave them back. He didn’t look twic or said thanks and just walked off. (Will that was rude!L

Dan Byul looked at him walk away with disbelief. She then brush it off and went to attend to her shoes that dropped. Seeing that it was just fine Dan Byul replaced the cover of the shoe box and was about to go on her way. Until she lifted her gown and realized that they missed a piece of paper Gang Hyun had dropped. She calls out to him and he turns. Before she could say anything a delivery bike that was coming in from the side collided with Gang Hyun. Throwing him of the ground and lands on his back. (Ouch…) The motorcyclist drove off quickly. Dan Byul who witness everything started chasing the motorcyclist only to remember that Gang Hyun just got hit and probably needs medical attention. Frustrated that she couldn’t catch the motorcyclist, Dan Byul went back and check on Gang Hyun.

Gang Hyun was bleeding Dan Byul uses her wedding gown and tore a piece of it to wrap his head and was sent to the hospital.

The wedding preparation was almost all ready and Jun Young was please with everything. Until Hee Jae came stomping time the wedding venue. She confronted Jun Young, she said that Jun Young is not allowed to get married because he didn.t even give her a chance in which she said he promised he will.
Hee Jae “For five years I have only looked at you.”
Jun young “You have never been more than my junior in college. I have told you”
(Girl, I think the guy has made it really clear already! Don’t bring yourself so low man.)
Hee Jae refuse to back down and ask who he was marrying and is she that great.
Jun Young simply answers “She is to me” and asked her to leave.
Hurt and upset Hee Jae agreed to leave. Threating that she will let him marry for now. But it is over for her. She isn’t giving up.

As Hee Jae was on her way out she saw Dan Byul running into the wedding venue.  Dan Byul suddenly stops on her tracks and realized she lost her wedding shoes. Hee Jae thought this can’t be the woman Jun Young was going to marry is she?

Hee Jae was horrified to realize that Dan Byul is that one that Jun Young is going to marry. Dan Byul told Jun Young what happened at Paju and apologizes for losing the shoes. Of course, Jun Young forgave her. But her dress was ruined. Dan Byul then thought of an idea and made her dress shorter. Jun Young smiled and they walked off together. Hee Jae was so shock and annoyed that Jun Young choose a girl like that over her.

Meanwhile, Jun Young’s mother sits at home unable to belief that her only son choose Dan Byul of all the girls in the world. Feeling helpless and upset she started cleaning the place. While complaining about how ungrateful they both were.

And so the wedding ceremony began. They said their vows and exchange rings. The camera zoom out of the couple and there we see Jun Young’s mother standing at the side crying and saying how he deserves better. (Well, she still wouldn’t miss her son’s wedding for the world.)

At the office of Su Food Trading, Jun Young’s dad sits there thinking of what to write in the card for his mistress Mil Lee. A surprise visit was made by his wife and he was not able to hide the roses in which he bought for Mil Lee. His wife ask who the roses were for and if it was for her. He quickly agreed with her and she thanks him for being such a great husband who always cheers her up especially today.  (haha, little does she know…) She then ask him out for dinner but he quick refuse saying that he has an extremely important meeting he can’t miss and rushes out of his office, leaving his wife behind.

Jun Young’s dad went to Mil Lee’s work place only to chase her leaving with another man. He looked horrified. Mil Lee gets into the guys car and as rolls down the window looks at him and smirks. As the car drove off he gave chase for a while till the car was too far ahead.

Back at home, Jun Young’s mum changes the flowers and her mood seems to have lifted a little. The next scene shows Jun young’s dad going all the way to Mil Lee’s house. He rings the doorbell. There was no answer. He then tried the password. She changed it.

At the hospital Gang Hyun wakes up after a few hours. Finding San Gook(his boss) sitting next to his hospital bed. He quickly sits up to greet him. But Sang Gook tells him to rest. He then tells Gang Hyun he was there just to sign the consent paper. He then nags at Gang Hyun for getting into an accident instead of working.(He sure has a weird way of showing his concern) After a brief conversation, Sang gook leaves Gang Hyun to rest.

Our newlywed couple goes on the honeymoon, the seaside. Jun Young asked if since Dan Byul love the sea side so much if they should have gone to Jeju. Dan Byul then says replies saying they should go together with his parent next year. Jun Young obviously didn’t quite like the idea. Dan Byul then tells him that she love it here so much more because with him she is in paradise. Jun Young then joke saying that since she could say such a cheesy line without even blink it was probably not true.  They bickered for a while and promised how they would live happily. So just a few more moments for the deeply in love couple.

Meanwhile, Hee Jae is drinking herself drunk to drown her sorrows. She then questioned what he said and ask herself
if she was not a woman to him? (I’m pretty sure that was not what he meant but ya that works… I guess?)

Drunk Hee Jae goes to the office to find her grandma and started weeping. Her grandma then brought her home. Her father comes rushing home and charged into her room like a mad man asking if Hee Jae was hurt. Grandma ask Sang Gook(yes, Gang Hyun boss) to go outside as she wants to talk to him. In grandma’s room. Grandma starts scolding Sang Gook for not taking care of Hee Jae well and being too focus on work only. Sang gook then promise to take better care of Hee Jae.

The next scene we see Jun Young doing push up and Dan Byul ask him what he is doing. He then tells her that it is their first night and he is preparing and tells her she should be prepared too. Looking like a pervert Dan Byul freaks out a little and throws a towel at him asking him to shower. He laughs and tells her he was joking. He then ask her to help him make some tea to drink later.

Dan Byul then goes in the kitchen a little freaked out ask asked herself where he learnt to speak like that. She filled the electric kettle to bottle water and only to realize it was not working. She then looks that the normal kettle and decided to use it instead. She fill it placed it on the stove. She hesitates. She hand slowly inches towards the stove. She then had a flashback of her past. Both her parents died in a fire, so she fear it.

My thoughts- So far so good. Even though it is still too early to tell how good it is going to be. The character development is pretty good. I just got to say that Dan Byul seem like the type who would probably be a pullover. Especially when she doesn't have Jun Young. Still I like where it is going hopefully it won't disappoint. This is my first recap do let me know what you think! Cheers!

The Promise current impression

Title: The promise/Heaven's promise
Genre: Melodrama, Family
Episodes: 100(TBC)
Current impression; Loving it

Summary: Na Yeon is a gentle and kind woman who truly loves her boyfrind Tae-Joon. She was willing to give up anything for him. She gave up her studies to support him while he studied in university. However, Tae Joon dumped her for Se Jin(granddaughter of Baekdoo Company's President).

I'm currently 34 episodes into this drama and I have to say that I am really loving this drama it's character development is really good. Even though I wish it is Na Yeon who gets her revenge personally. I am still quite keen to see where this drama will take me. Hopefully it doesn't get too draggy or anything. But if you are currently looking for a drama to watch The promise is one drama you can check out.

2015 Disappointing dramas

Today I am just going to blog about some of the most disappointing dramas I have watched this 2015. They mostly started off fun or interesting but gradually it just goes down hill.

Rating 5th
Birth of a beauty

In this plot we have our plus size house wife with a thirst for revenge. Transforming her self in to a slim, sexy and beauty woman with the help of a plastic surgeon. She wants revenge on her husband who tried to murder her. Han Ye-seul played the leading lady while Joo sang wook played our leading man.

This drama started off pretty good with lots of humorous and pillow punching scenes(sort of). The disappointing moment was really the last few episodes, it became anticlimactic... Was tempted to drop the drama but I didn't. Ending was a little disappointing and cliche.

Rating 4th
Hwajung
This drama is basically about politics in the palace in the past. The main story revolved around a princess, Princess Jungmyung. It had a particularly dark beginning and a lot of plotting and misunderstandings etc.

I loved the start of this drama. I totally drama “binge” but as the story unfolded, it became really draggy and the princess character got really annoying to me. So I dropped the drama at around episode 30ish

Rating 3rd
Maids
This story talks about a rich man’s daughter who became a slave because her father was framed for treason. She fights her way to uncover the truth and along the way found love.

Well, I was hooked to this drama at first. I liked how the main character was so determine to find out about the truth. Honestly, I was hoping this drama would have more of a twist and a little punch to the story. But it didn’t really had any. Disappointingly, the storyline was really predictable.

Rating 2nd
Blood
A vampire who became a surgeon. Acts cold and unfriendly but is truly a softy inside. Fell in love with a physician who works in the same hospital and of course they had a big evil our vampire lead is going to have to face.

After “Healer”, “Blood” had big shoes to fill. So I won’t say it was a fair game. But this drama didn’t start off well at all. I dropped it after the first episode… I didn’t really like the pairing. Honestly, I have nothing against Ahn Jae-hyun and Ji Jin-hee but they had no chemistry.

Rating 1st
My unfortunate boyfriend
This is a love story of a man who believes in living truthfully and a woman who would do anything to climb up the ladder and succeed in life. They end up changing each other while finding love.
The way they wrote the script made the leading man seem more like he was afraid of responsibility and a little weird, rather than him wanting to live truthfully. It was really funny and bubbly at first but as the story when on I think the only person between the two of them who changes was Yang Jin-sung (the leading lady). However, the story didn’t have a real climax and seriously for 16 episodes it kind of just became draggy.

Okay, I’m just going to end it of here. These are the 5 dramas that I felt was a disappointment in 2015. Even so, these are just my personal opinion. All in all have a nice day guys! :)
